[at-l] Communication with Oz
- Subject: [at-l] Communication with Oz

My son Ian (Wagtail) starts his through hike from Atlanta on 1 April and my
wife is getting increasingly anxious about how we can keep in touch. (In my
case, I'm just resigned to the fact that I've bred an idiot *g*).
Conventional methods of communication with Australia (mail/phone) involve
either long delay or high cost and phone communication also introduces
problems of time differentials.
So I wondered if:
(a) there are any email facilities located at points along the trail; or
(b) we could find a few people (preferably living not too far from the
trail) who would be prepared to accept an occasional phone call from Ian and
relay a message to us by email.
We'd appreciate any advice and assistance.
Regards
Brian
