[ft-l] Fort myers area kyaking/snorkeling/fishing/hiking

I am going to be residing at Gulf Coast U for about 3 weeks this summer - 
starting next week.  Can any of you folks with hiking or kyaking experience 
in that region suggest some good places to go?  I won't have too much time 
but think there will be at least one weekend that I could get away. Please 
reply asap as I leave here on Sunday but I guess my email will probably go 
with me.
I read about Cayo Costa that Solar Bear mentioned, but also read that it has 
some treacherous currents for kyakers.  Any advice there?  Also would it be 
possible to kyak to cabbage key?  Any advice would be welcome. - Also short 
hikes or paddles in the ft Myers area.
