I  started  in  1993  on  April 13 in Georgia with a six pound Moss Tent, mostly
because it was what I owned, and it had served well on previous hikes.

Sometime  in July I switched to a bivouac tent because as the trail thinned out,
I found the shelters were rarely full and I stayed in them most nights.

I  dream  sometimes  about  buying  a  lighter tent, but I seem always to find a
better use for the money it would cost.
