I have been instructed to invalidate all thru-hike claims of folks who
skipped the section between the road and the dam in Fontana. Careful
study was done on the footprints of hikers in 2001 and only 18 people
actually walked this section! It can be assumed that many hikers in
prior years also conveniently missed this piece of sacred trail.
