[at-l] Hiking Poles Leki vs. REI

I use the Leki's - the Makalus with the angled cork handles. Love them. I
tried a pair of the REI that a friend has and just did not like the way the
handles felt or the way the straps went. I only have around 60 or so miles
on these but have had zero problems. Being that I am 52 years young with
complaining knees, these have really helped, both up and (especially) down
hill.

I have heard stories about Ti poles getting bent and could not be fixed -
hearsay only - and I don't think there is that much difference in weight.
Myself, I would spend the money on these again in a heartbeat. Well, maybe
not that fast, but I would do it again.

Good luck on your decision.

I'm looking at Hiking poles and am wondering if the extra money for the leki
poles are worth it. The light-weight poles are what I'm most interested in.
Still not sure about the shock absorb, the noise seems annoying and I hear
bad things if they get bent. Any pole suggestions?
