So tell me - in your opinion, what exactly constitutes a "PCT-like
discussion"? And how do "your" personal attacks qualify as legitimate
discussion on pct-l? <g>

If you're gonna lie about me, dear, you should really do it in places where
you're not likely to run into me. Like maybe in the Trailjournals
guestbooks? But that didn't work out for you either, did it? Yeah - I know
about your lies and nastiness there - I just didn't figure you were worth
answering.
Now - I'll challenge you to back up your alligator mouth with facts. Where
and when did I say any of those things?
To my knowledge, I've never told anyone to leave "any" list - I've never
told "anyone" on cdt-l (or pct-l) that they're stupid, although I've
definitely told some people that their "actions" were stupid (there IS a
difference) - and I've never asked, demanded or expected that anyone see
things "my way." But I've sure run into some astoundingly ignorant people.
And there are times when I'm not shy about pointing out their ignorance.
Some of them get insulted about that. That's their problem and they should
deal with it. Maybe by learning that "opinion" doesn't qualify as "fact"?

1. You never participated on cdt-l before that discussion. There's no
reason to believe that you ever would have done so.
2. I have every right to return the same degree of courtesy and respect that
I'm accorded - whether in person or on an email list. And I sometimes do
exactly that. You also failed to mention the personal attacks that
precipitated that cdt-l discussion.

No - the purpose of this list - as with every other hiking related list - is
to discuss those things that relate to hiking. And that includes a lot more
than food and bear cans. Religion, God and spirituality are perfectly valid
subjects as long as you adhere to Brick's rules - as he defined them here:
http://mailman.backcountry.net/pipermail/pct-l/2005-September/025857.html
Or haven't you figured out yet that thruhiking a long trail (ANY long trail)
is a "head trip" and has little to do with stoves and bear cans.
>Neutrally yours,
Naah - there's nothing "neutral" about your post.
You also said:
>I am a scientist by occupation and by nature (no pun intended).
So am I, dear - and based on this little "discussion" I have a real problem
believing that statement. Science is based on open discussion of "facts" -
something you seem reluctant to get involved with. Unless you're what's
sometimes called a "pre-conceptual" scientist? Whatever - it's not
something I'll miss any meals over.
Now - if you have something to say about cdt-l - or me, why don't you take
it to cdt-l - or discuss it with me privately. What you've done so far is
to dump your venom in places where you thought I wouldn't find it. And
that's simply cowardice -
Finally - for Brick -
My apologies, but this BS has been dumped in too many places for me to
continue ignoring it. I'm getting a little tired of the nasty little
"multi-media whispering campaign" that's being conducted against me and
Ginny. If anyone has a beef with me, they know where to find me -
Walk softly,
Jim
