[pct-l] Re: shoes (crocs/waldies)

just thought i'd add my 2 cents to this discussion...

i got my camp shoes at allheart.com. until recently, they sold something
called "comfort clogs" that are exactly the same thing as waldies (and
crocs, except crocs have ankle straps). they're intended for hospital
usage and cost alot less- i think i paid about $12 for mine
(crocs/waldies go in the $30 range at rei, etc).

ANYWAY allheart.com doesn't seem to have these exact kind anymore- they
only have unventilated ones with some sort of insole that just don't
seem to be as ideal for camp shoes.

i took mine on the jmt last sept. (dangling outside my pack- looking
like a PRO i might add!) and i found them to be perfect for camp shoes.
in fact, i wear them all over the place, despite the fact that they are
RED and are really goofy lookin... they're just so comfy, i can't resist
(my philosophy regarding clothes in general)...

anyhoo, they'll be with me on the pct this year, so if anyone finds a
red clog on the trail, rescue it for me, will ya?? oh, and don't laugh
at me when you see me wearin' 'em...
