I did one of those this year; Anacortes, WA to Cambridge, MA.  The bicycle
is a much different experience from walking a trail or route.  It can also
get expensive.  The last night, in Cambridge, there was no place to camp.
The hotel . . . $285 . . . and a nice view.

Oh, you could do the Continental Divide on a bicycle.  Adventure Cycling in
Missoula, MT publishes maps.
