     Not this year, David. Not this year.....Too much of a "gap" in 
     training from the summer...Still aiming at being competitive in 
     distances shorter than the marathon for this fall. (But maybe the HUFF 
     50/50 for Christmas?!?!?)

     Did I notice the at-l's own Uncle Milt Webb, of Beckley, WVA, 
     registered amongst the men???????? Hmmmmm?

Subject: [at-l] MMTR 50 Field Filling Up

As of today, there are 149 runners registered for the 1999 MMTR 50 Miler.
 The field is limited to 240 runners and I expect the race to fill up
before race weekend.  If you or your friend is interested in running you 
need to enter soon.  After 240 runners have entered, a waiting list will 
be established.  Runners on the waiting list will be allowed if and when 
someone already entered drops out.   
     
Patagonia capilene shirts will be awarded to all sub-12 hour finishers. 
All entrants will receive the classic long-sleeved t-shirt or sweatshirt.
 At the awards ceremony ( at Heritage High School Cafeteria- new location
this year ) Montrail running shoes and other Montrail equipment, 
Patagonia jackets and shirts will be given out in random drawings.
     
The top ten men and top five women will also receive special embroideried 
golf shirts.
     
Ultrarunning editor ( Fred Pilon ) and former editor ( Peter Gargarin ) 
may even grace us with their presnce.
