  I never thought to make a permanent copy of the journal I transcribed. I
thought by posting it to "Trailplace" I _was_ making a permanent record. 
  I'm glad I saved all of 'my' thruhikers letters, and mailed them back to him
after his hike was finished, I hope all transcribers did this!
