Hi,
I have decided to dump the raincoat in favor of a poncho, after some very wet
and warm hiking this summer.
I've been using my old BSA poncho recently, and plan to replace it with a
newer one, lighter and stronger, that will double as a groundcloth.
My question is this; is there any value in the "backpacker" style poncho with
a built in "pack cover," or is a long poncho just as effective? I'm not
planning on leaving the pack cover at home, since a covered pack can be
interesting even when I'm not wearing it...
If you have a question about my question, you can refer to Campmor's catalog
page at http://www.campmor.com/clothing/campmor/rain.ponchos.html
Thanks for your experiences,
-Paddler
