Re: [at-l] Sleeping Bag Liner choices
Tim,
I got the silk liner and have used it once on a recent 7 day trip on the
Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier...I bought it because of the weight
primarily...The temperatures ranged from low 40's to mid 50's at night (but
there was always a chance of colder weather). I have a NOrthFace down bag to
25 degrees, so I wanted to add the 9 degrees if I needed to. What I ended up
doing, that I really liked was to put the silk liner over my thermarest like a
sheet and then use the sleeping bag unzipped like a comforter. I hate the
confinement of a mummy bag unless i have to do it for warmth. By the way,
when I got home the silk liner laundered beautifully...still looks brand new.
I didn't put it in the dryer. I don't remember what the instructions said,
just going with how I usually wash silk.
Anyway, I couldn't be happier..the texture is wonderful and I think it's worth
every penny.
