A June 1st start might limit your choice of routes due to the weather, most
likely the only trail open will be the AT (the Hunt Trail out of Katahdin
Stream Campground).
Last year, Katahdin's summit, Baxter Peak, wasn't open untill late June. This
year, the summit was open on May 15th. That's Maine for you!
