I carry a nylon wallet with the following contents:
Drivers License
Visa card
Cash Machine card
Cash - quantity depends on what my plans are
Travelers checks - ditto to above
Personal contact and emergency information
1 Picture of wife and kids
Car key (1) if I drove
I don't carry change to make a phone call because no one I call will ever be
local. Pay phones ?all? will let you at least call the operator to make a
credit card or collect call. I know my phone card access number.
I carry toilet paper so I don't need kleenex as a backup. I don't carry a
comb or a brush - my fingers work just fine. Brush your hair when you get
backl to the car.
There are nail clippers in my first aid kit along with toothbrush and
toothpaste in the sample size tube - half or quarter tubes for short hikes.
I give myself the luxury of nail clippers because I can't ever seem to cut my
nails with my Leatherman, and long toenails are nasty inside your boots.
Dump all that extra stuff - and carry no spare anything. Don't lose your
toothbrush, and if someone else does, they can do without. If you break a
nail, cut it close and if you have to, put some duct tape on it...
