Most mid-weight boots tend to run around that price, unfortunately. I
did happen to get my Asolos on sale for $110. My advice is to just keep
an eye out for sales at REI, Campmor and Sierra Trading Post (especially
the latter - they have great deals).
You might also want to consider getting light-medium weight since most
of the hiking will be shorter trips. They are often a heck of alot
cheaper than midweight all-leather boots.
