What happened to the American Indians is truly tragic since they were
sovereign nations.  Private property in the US has always been bound by
eminant domain laws and anyone buying it should understand that these
laws could be applied against them at some future date.  An
interesting foot note about Indians and land is that the Lakota have
repeatedly refused attempts by the government to pay them off for the
illegal taking of the Black Hills in SD.  What if they actually won
back the land in court?
