I have Wordperfect and Microsoft Word so I can open documents  people send me
for use in my newsletters. But the word processor I write in and produce the
tabloid newsletters I publish for MATC, Maine Chapter AMC, and my town's land
trust is WordStar, which went out of business around 1992.

It remains the best program for laying out simple newspaper pages -- far better,
I find, than Word or Word Perfect.
