"carbs" not a word? Ha!... Fwd: Re: [at-l] Snickers energy bar...



In the rapid evolution of the marketing rot we daily face,
apparently at least one misnomer has been redefined, oddly
enough, *toward* meaningful content and away from vacuity.
"Carbs", in some packaging I saw over the weekend, was
asterixesedesaed right there on the box to mean "grams of
carbohydrate" -- it is thus now a plural of carbohydrate grams,
and is thus now countable. I am seeing it defined as such more
frequently.

I think this is plainly due to our erudite, lucidative at-l
thread, and think once again that hiking's effect on the larger,
wackier world is not to be under-estimated.

I will accept kudos and sign autographs in the corner.
