When I worked at a seed shop in IN, I had a customer once who'd grown up near LL Bean. Their family tradition was to open their presents on Christmas morning, then go to the old LL Bean store (when it was a warehouse-type place) and look at their tree. I always liked that little vignette on several levels: (1) it was a nice, homey tradition; (2) it meant that LL Bean was really open on Christmas Day. anklebear

I think that was the original intent of Leon Leonwood. And don't get me started about that store in Freeport. I could
move in there and be perfectly happy for the rest of my life.

Maybe someday I will spend a winter in New England.
