[at-l] Winter Backpacking Tips

The bags are also good as vapor barrier socks to put your feet in. The
drill is to put on sock liners, plastic bag then cover with your regular
socks and put on your boots. This will help keep feet dry and warmer. In
camp, the drill is to take off the boots and socks, put in a larger trash
bag and keep at the end of your sleeping bag to avoid freezing your boots.
The vapor barrier socks work just as well in your sleeping bag when
blizzards are howling and temps are below zero.

The best tip: if this is your first winter hiking experience, don't go alone.
