Of coarse... AIRPLANES..? Thats it...
That MUST be how all the trash gets in those remote places along the trails...
Gggeeee Felix... You're so smart,
I never would have thought about getting airplanes into this thread.
I bet they have a lot of airplanes in Yellowstone too... And they DO fly across the AT.
They are noisy, poluting, scare the animals, and if one ever crashes, think about how it would upset the environment.
Thats it... lets try to ban Airplanes too... or at least make them use 4 cycle engines!

I can't help but think about the movie "The Gods must be crazy"
When the pilot threw the Coke bottle out over Africa, and caused all the problems for the tribe who found it!

Jeff

  Obvously airplanes have motors, Jeff.

I remember when I first started getting into backoacking, I was in the smokies. Somewhere up around the
Peck's Corner turn-off (too far for a dayhiker, unless it's Sloetoe) I saw a Mt. Dew can. I remember
vividly thinking, "Damn, that was left by a backoacker." (I vividly remember it. Not thinkin' vividly.)
  I was disappointed, indeed.
