Mind you, I signed, "only half serious".  Let's hope you haven't lost your
sense of humor completely, assuming you ever had one.

Obviously, snowmobiles would have a hard time on the AT, it's nothing like
the flats of the roads in Yellowstone, nor has the amount of snow.  In order
to  keep the post local, I also mentioned opening the AT to mountain bikes,
horses, atvs and motorbikes.  It's not as though the trail hasn't seen any of
their use.

What's to stop someone crying foul and demanding a multiple use trail,
especially since it's also a NP?  I wouldn't doubt that the current
administration would go along with it, since they all have powerful lobbies.
And *bottom line*, it would create jobs.
