Yes, very problematic on the AT.  I have heard many reports.  If anyone is
interested, I have an excellent snow snake repellent oil that I sell for
$10.00 a bottle.  A bottle will last you for years, and I guarantee that if
you put a few drops on each boot once or twice a season, you will NEVER see
a snow snake.  Contact me offline for ordering details.
