[at-l] Hammock Setup

  [Shane:]
Tie ridgeline to Carabineer using Mayan knot.
Dr. Heffington has illustrated the Mayan knot for us, but using a carabineer
our way, the 'tree' side is actually the hammock side:

this knot is also known as a sheet bend. Any scout should be able to teach your cat how to tie it ;-)
it's a great knot that is a breeze to tie and works especially well in holding two different types of rope together.
To make it a quick release knot, you tie it "on a bight" or on a corner. The "end of rope - pull tight" section is made like a shoelace bow rather than a single piece. -OR- in other, less confusing language, fold the rope in half and pull the corner thru and pull it to tighten, then to release, just pull the "bitter" end or free end of the rope out of the bow just like untying your shoe.
