[at-l] The AT-L according to Seuss.

HEY! There's a lot wisdom in his books. I mean, how many of us would've
tried green eggs and ham PRIOR to reading Cat in the Hat?

***
I feel inspired this morning. Maybe I'll start keeping my trail journal
like this... I named some names, but mostly I didn't - you can add to it if
you like. I hope no one is bothered either way...

Twiddler-dee
and Twiddler-dum
were two at-l lurkers
just reading for fun.

They sat and they read
but little was said.
So they decided to post
some questions instead.

They were made quite welcome
'round the fire's warm glow
And Red gave them both
a hot smash-melleaux

Answers they got,
oh answers indeed
they got much more info
than they ever could need

They posted some more
and soon they were hooked
this was much better
than when first they had looked

They met a strange Jack
from Bal-ti-more
who's posts had them laughing
right down on the floor.

Info came quickly
with gear lists and links
For bottles and tents
and portable sinks.

Umbrellas, cell phones,
and stoves were discussed
And problems with filters
that sometimes went bust

Curtis proposed
which was not unexpected
It seems he was often,
though gently, rejected

Some things were off topic
some things were obscene
But usually the list
was wholesome and clean

Squabbles there were
some tending to rag
But Ryan was there
with the 'OFF TOPIC' flag.

Weary was quick
to let them both know
To leave little trace
wherever they'd go.

Loggers they learned
were hideous beasts
And town stops were mostly
for sumptuous feasts

Guns they were told
were not needed here
Just a pack and a pad
some snacks and some beer

They deleted those posts
when people would whine
About all Wingfoot's problems
and some lousy mine

Bears they discovered
were no threat at all
The woods were much safer
than walking the mall

Snakes were quite rare,
but mice could be found
At every shelter
both south and north bound

The list was quite steady
Sometimes hundreds a day
But they still found the time
to buy gear on E-Bay.

Eventually they thought
they could stand it no more
so they put on their packs
and went right out the door.

>From Georgia to Maine
they knew they would be
quite happy while walking
the grand old A-T.
