Well if it were me and I were wrapping a fund raiser into my hike, I'd take
the cell phone and a pocketmail composer like http://www.pocketmail.com/.
I'd let my supporters know where I am and keep in touch via email, maybe
have someone put it on a web page or college LAN page for the fund raiser.
That way I could just send the e-mail quickly from anyplace I could get
connected,and I wouldn't have to be that worried about reception.
