Jack Coriell of the Nantahala Hiking Club is one of the most preeminent
blaze painters and has been for over 20 years.  He also wrote the Guide Book
sections for Nantahala area.  The Nantahala Hiking Club site is at the
following URL: http://www.smnet2.net/users/nhc/   Jack paints blazes with a
sponge and stamps them on the tree after preparing with a scraper.    Jack's
blazes are all regulation size.  He would be a good contact for type of
paint and other questions.  He and his wife and Club came out and fed us
when we worked a week on the Nantahala Trail with the Konarock Crew.  He let
me paint one blaze.  It was obvious from the reaction of the other club
members that this was quite an unusual event, as he paints them all!
