AMC in New Hampshire auctions off their old signs to raise money. MATC in Maine
destroys their signs because they don't want to create the impression that these
are "collectibles," and thus encourage pilfering.

I used some that I removed from Whitecap to build a temporary ramp for my
wheel-chair bound father-in-law. Others I've burned for fire wood. Some seemed
just too precious to dispose of so they hang around my garage.
