Take an old closed cell foam sleeping pad and cut a strip the height of
your pot out of it. Roll this around your pot and mark the length so it
fits snugly but not tight. Glue the butted ends together with contact
cement.

Decide if you want an inside or an outside "top" to the cozy and place
the cozy-ring on the foam pad. Cut with a sharp knife and glue with the
contact cement.

Viola!

We just made 12 of these in Boy Scouts. The boys love them. Some of them
made cozies for their cups and "frying pans" as well - used for keeping
food hot and preventing hot pans from burning legs and laps!
