My two cents on winter water: fill your cooking pot the night before up to 
just below the rim. If it freezes, at least it's where you'll need it! Use 
your pot cozy, and it probably won't freeze. I use the widemouth Nalgenes in 
the winter, full of hot water and stuck in an old sock in the bottom of your 
sleeping bag and you'll have water instead of ice in the AM.
