[at-l] mount rogers trip suggestions

me and a friend are trying a trip up mount Rogers(VA high point I
understand). now he is not a backpacker but I try very hard to not look down
on non backpackers (just kidding I always look down on them just kidding
again)

ANYWHOOO!!! I was wondering if anyone from the area knows of a nice
campsite(car or short walk of under 1 mile but I prefer a car site for him)
that we could use in the area and a nice trail up it.

any suggestions.  or I will look at my maps and just use what every is
easiest/closest and be done with it for better or for worse.
