[at-l] Standing Native Original American People Questions

First of all, thank you to everyone that responded. I've been studying the
maps today at work (and looking out the window at the Blue Ridge & wishing I
were there) and tonight at home and have decided on the following plans

Plan A: Snow campout (it could happen!)

1) Park at Winding Stair Gap (and Wayah Crest)
2) Hike to Siler Bald.
3) Play in the snow.
4) Eat/Sleep.
5) Hike to Wayah Crest Picnic Area.
6) Go home.

Total miles: 6 (not much - but there *is* snow on the ground).
Miles on AT: 6

Plan B: No Snow campout - sunny weather

1) Park at Beech Gap (and Backcountry Info Center)
2) Hike to AT on Beech Gap Trail (2.8 mi uphill)
3) Hike to Standing Indian Shelter (4.2 mi uphill)
4) Eat/Sleep
5) Hike to Deep Gap (.9 mi)
6) Hike to SI campground on Kimsey Creek Trail (3.7 or 4.2 mi - depending
on which map)

Total miles: 10.7-ish
Miles on AT: 5.1

Is Plan B something a bunch of 11 and 12 year-olds can handle?

Thanks again,

Charles
