According to the guy who wrote the Klutz Book of Knots, when you tie your
shoelace, when you make the loop, go around your thumb TWICE, then poke the
other piece through the hole where you pull your thumb out.  I've tied my
shoelaces that way for years.  You can always pull them undone, but they
don't work loose on their own the way other knots do.  There!  All fixed!
