Finding the right form and doing the report is a bit of a bother, 
especially if the illness was mild or titers were borderline. Often, 
reported cases indicate the most severe illnesses that were hospitalized or 
died. My point about the nasty of RMSF versus Lyme is the rapidity that 
onset of symptoms and death can occur. Lyme tends to be insidious and mild 
initially. RMSF tends to die within 72 hours unless recognized and treated 
aggressively (and IV tetracycline is definitely aggressive). If had had to 
get a rickettsial disease, I'd choose Lyme Disease. After all, it 
compliments the color of my Gatorade!
