Ditto regarding tick species. If the person is ill, the presumed species of
tick is of little significance (unless you find it still attached). My
familiarity with RMSF is due to where I grew up, and the fact that I had 2
childhood friends die with it, and we usually had 1 or 2 cases annually in
our county of western NC.
