	Don't forget that the PCT on the north side of San Jacinto,
roughly from Fuller Ridge to I-10, has remained closed since the
Verbenia Fire of 11 July 2004.  Given the post-fire lack of brush,
etc., and the 6" of rain that the area just received, the odds are
that the trail is washed out in places, too.

	The Verbenia Fire was allegedly started by a target shooter,
Kyle Ferree, of Hawthorne.  He shot at an old motorcycle frame,
causing a spark, which caused the fire.  He tried to put it out, but
burned himself in the process.  He's being charged with a misdemeanor,
which carries a possible 6 months in jail, $1000 fine, and (ulp!)
a bill for $4.4 million in fire-supression charges.
