[pct-l] Power Crunch in Calif.

Note to waterlogged Northwesterners from California.

I have a REAL stove not just a handwarmer. Therefore I cook REAL rice [the
stuff that TASTS GOOD] or REAL spaghetti by simmering for 20 miniutes.
At this point I rehydrate my ground beef [Cooked the way Jerry said] and add
a dash of oil to make it TASTE GOOD. I then rehydrate my Ragu sauce and whip
up a meal of spaghetti that is indistinguishable from restaurant food [Just
like Jerry said].

Tip of the day to Northwesterners from California: Living well is the best
revenge!

Of course only hikers NOT in the state of California will be able to read
this post. With all the black outs, it would be a good time to practice your

outdoor cooking skills. Favorite PCT dinner for an Alcohol stove::: Boil 3
cups water and throw in 1 bag of " Boil in Bag" minute rice. Remove rice
after 5 minutes and set aside. You will now have only 1 cup of water left in

pot as rice sucked up 2 cups worth. Add 1 package of " McCormick's " Country

Gravy mix and stir in boil water about 1 minute. Add one can of chicken to
gravy. ( This can be dehydrated at home in less than 2 hours along with
mushrooms) Now open rice bag ,dump in and stir. Beats Corn Pasta in taste
test world wide! Less than 10 minutes to make from start to finish. ( Feeds
two hikers, or one staving thru-hiker. Tip of the day for my Calif.
friends::
