[pct-l] digest and watches

I would like to say two things and then go back into the background
where I probably belong: (1) I agree with Ron Moak's comments about
Kevin's wanting us to produce all the words that will meet all HIS
needs. The PCT Digest is great and I love reading it daily. I would say
its like your favorite columnist in the S.F. Chronicle or the L.A.
Times, etc. Not all of it is meant for everyone, every time. You read it
hoping for "gems" that are either helpful and/or humorous. It is geared
for the "masses", not any one person. (2) Two years ago I bought the
Casio Module No. 1405 at REI. I love it. It is a great and expensive
"toy" but when needed in case of an emergency I trust it is well worth
every penny it cost me. I must admit it really is fun! I belong to a
hiking group and at least once each trip three or four of us who have a
"watch" with a barometer and altimeter put our wrists together and
compare elevations and then, of course, harsh each other, compare
brands, models, etc. Good fun. But, I really do respect in an emergency,
it would prove to be worth what I paid for it.
