Re: [ft-l] Florida Trail thru-hikers

Those who love the Florida trail must also realize that a trail which is less than 50% complete in a state that is rapidly being over run by out of control developers must become very aggressive about land aquisiton.  We need to focus our energies on securing the necessary right of ways, or they will quickly cease to exist.    

The AT had time on its side, we do not.  The PCT enjoyed massive wilderness areas with low population, the FT does not.  

If we, as an association do not begin to focus on a thru trail now, we will be left with nothing but a scattering of loop trails that wander thru sub divisions.
