[at-l] Bugs bug me

I am planning an AT hike on  the NH/VT portion during the summer of
2000. After reading the literature, a June departure semms to be the
worst for the black flies and mosquitoes. I hate those critters. Has
anyone had any experience with this section of the AT during June? Are
the bugs bad? What would be the best summer month to hike in this
section?
