I haven't found this to be a concern. If you use the Esbit tabs, you can blow
them out when you are done, there really is no discernable odor and they
re-light very easily when you need to fire up the stove again. I usually just
leave them in the stove, close the stove back up, throw it all in its ziplock
bag, then into the pot and off I go!
