I have been carrying a pee bottle AND a large collapsible
yet-to-be-filtered bottle versus a safe-to-drink bottle water bottle.

Ditto, section hiking; but I think it may stay home on my thruhike and my
collapsible yet-to-be-filtered bottle may get a chance to double as
something else.
