I was 18 when I started. Was certainly prepared, and very focused (too
focused?) on but not matured. Took 1000 miles (or more?) before I
*knew* I could do it. In '79, me and Jim Chase were the youngest, but
I think we were definitely NOT the least mature *or* focused.

Are there a lot of teens on the trail? If so, what percentage are/seem mature
and prepared enough to thru-hike?
