[at-l] White Mountains...

Them mountains are calling my name, after a super-quick realization
I had some time off, I threw together a six-day near Mt. Carrigan. Going to
stay away from the AT and just slowly ramp up to speed for the season.
This has a been a good test of my ability to store and care for my
gear. Tent, stove, water filter, and boots are all purring along nicely.
The boots in particular are wearing perfectly. I've only acclimated them
for two days and once again they're my hooves. All the gear advice I've
ever given, the one that sticks out is to take the time to break your boots
in correctly. Take a week of slowly working them in to your routine and it
will be worth every second.

Only sad thing is that the heels are starting to wear through to the
air pockets in the sole. Seems a waste because the leather/gore-tex is in
such good shape. Do they re-sole boots?

See you all tomorrow out on the trail. Wicked and Pixee out ('96, '00)
