Well i just figuered out how to send messages to the mailing list.=) 
Ive done some hiking/packing with my parents in the sierras, i live in 
san diego california, and sense i have to do this enviromental fair i 
was wondering what the appalation mts are like compared to the sierras. 
The encyclopidea made them sound pretty dinky, just high enough to get 
snow... well maybe not dinky but not big, the highest peak is around 
6500 feet right? How meny of u have hiked both the appalation trail and 
some in the sierras, how are they the same and how are they differnet.
