[at-l] story if you care to read it

"SCHOOL"

Again it starts...

The one thing that makes all doubts fade away in my mind as to why you hike
and why you want to hike more and hike farther. The long days of sitting
around begin once again. These days you sit in a un-comfortable chair pen
in hand and blindly copy and write everything sent at you. You sit until
you feel like you need to scream. The material you are forced to listen to
is horrid and time slows to not much more than a crawl. You can peek out
the window at certain times and see a squirel playing happily in a tree.
Your mind wanders and you begin to think back to when you were young.

You are climbing that same white pine you would always climb and each time a
bit a higher. The pine sap and crud in the tree does not bother you at all
you just hope one day you will be on top of the tree holding on like a flag
and peek out at the area above all the roofs. You pass up and up from
branch to branch until you reach that one point where your nerve has never
let you climb higher. You pause a bit just to make it dramatic and lundge
further. You dont go up to much high just enough so you can find another
good spot to sit and you just hang out up there. you would not want to
defeat his tree in one day it would not be fair to the tree. sitting and
looking over the low hills in the area. You are king. You are above it all.
You sit up there until....

UGH!! Yyou think as you remember you are supposed to be paying attention to
this man who stand before you talking and talk and writing and writing about
nothign interesting. Now your pen runs 3 times normal speed to catch up
with the notes. You finally catch up and you can take a quick peek at the
time. You look up and it read 12:35pm. Good you think just over one year
to my thru-hike. You begin to write again and the time slows to a crawl as a
bird that flys by the window catches your attention.
<end>

well i am not a good writer but it is a free story grin and BEAR it.
The wanderlust is kicking in again. I hate this feeling. I feel so
trapped.
