RE: [at-l] Lighting Esbit Tabs in the Wind
I use the windscreen that came with my Whisperlite.
It will also decrease your cooking time.

Subject: [at-l] Lighting Esbit Tabs in the Wind
Here's one downside to the Esbit: the fuel tabs are not volatile enough
to light easily in breezy conditions. Any tips? Here are some ideas I had,
for which I would appreciate feedback.
1. Carry a very small jar of white gas. Put a little on the tab, and
flame on.
2. Soak some cottonballs in vaseline to use as "starter" as recommended
for starting a Zip Stove.
3. Stand around looking hungry and pitiful until some kind soul offers
to let me stick my Esbit tab into her/his Whisperlite flame.
Help?
