Gorham-Carlos Col- Grafton Notch: In '92 the shelter was still in the
notch....
Someday I'm going to go back and do this section "right"... Wandusmann
applied the coup d'grace here, "heck, he's an old dude, I got 25 years on
him, I can keep up...." This hiker got his butt kicked... I ended up
pulling an unplanned stop in Andover and following it up with a week of 10
mile days. The south-bounders in Andover didn't think I was in any
condition to make it to the Big K.  The onle section of the AT where I
physically "walked into the wall" - and I won't do that again...
