Re: [at-l] posts

Hi,

Topic for choovers only, no one else should read. He he, Yes it is
kinda slow. Jim made an excellent post on the Walasi-Yi thread.
I headed for the trail Friday after work, but not far out of town, the
Little People said "go home". Last time I didn't listen to them I
hobbled off the DZ with a broke leg bone.
So here I am at home putting up more antennas, getting ready to bounce
signals off that big meteor shower. WoW can you imagine a meteor shower
that could reach 10,000 meteors per hour? I have seen some showers that
reached 200 per hour and they were fantastic.
On winter back packing yes I like the Winter,. My first backpacking
trip had a high temperature of 17 deg. F. The extreme solitude of winter
always calls me back. Ahh but summers on the Ocean are nice too!
Backpacks get a little heavier in the winter. I like to keep a dry set
of everything that touches my body, long johns top and bottom, socks,
gloves and hat. This is a spare set that hopefully will never be needed
during the walking hours :-). To be used in an emergency, like falling
in a creek or to be put on at the end of the day when in camp. In
temperatures well below freezing I sometimes keep a water bottle stuck
into my taller winter gaiters REI. A bottle with a larger mouth tends to
work better. The tiny top of a standard soda bottle will freeze up in
the neck rather quickly.
