>>>Okay, you wiley ol' veterans, I'm finally planning my thru-hike (sorta)
and need yer help. From Hanover, heading south, there isn't really a
maildrop/town that screams out that it should be next. I can't afford to
stay at every B&B on the T-rail and it looks like most of the Vermontian
trailtowns are just that, one B&B and little more. Opinions? Also, is
North Woodstock the best, most obvious, resupply/showering point south of
the Whites? Don't ya love it when it rains in Indiana???>>>>>>
Felix,
Technically, you're still in the Whites in N. Woodstock. Glencliff is a
good place to get a maildrop... it's only 0.5 miles from the trail. If you
go to N. Woodstock, don't hitch in from Kinsman Notch/NH 112. It's almost
all fast-moving tourists. It was the toughest hitch i had on the trail
(other than Elk Park...don't even think about getting picked up there),
and i know others who had problems. As for Vermont, i used Manchester
Center. Didn't care much for the town, but it was the most feasible
distance for a maildrop for me at the time.
